This series of articles summarises which animals and people were involved in the creation and development of the Blue Line Chondros.

Who's Got The Blues – Teil 1

The Carolina Blue Line establishes and stabilizes itself
Mr. Blue was one of the most exciting chondros seen at the time.
He quickly went through his color change and eventually became a stunning solid blue male.
Even before John Holland took over Mr. Blue, a mating was carried out with his mother TMBF.
This clutch produced offspring with such well-known names as:
- Mitey Blue
- Aure
- Goliath
- Brotto Blue.
The sensation was perfect when Trooper Walsh mated his cousin Carolina to Mr. Blue in 2002 .
Legendary names like
- Skyy
- Little Boy Blue
- Smurfine
- Mojo
- Blue Volcano
belonged to this clutch.
All of them were Chondros of the Super Blue category.
Also in 2002, BG-94212 Daddypants was bred to his half-sister TMBF.
Daddypants was mated to TW-31-91_mv from OI'Yeller, one of the first Biak outcross animals in human care.
The important thing here was that new genetic material was crossed into the Blue Line via the Daddypants branch.
It also ensured that a variable proportion of colorful segments flowed into the Blue Line.
Neonates with a high proportion of black and/or yellow were born - in addition to the basic blue coloration.
These animals included
- - Ireland
- - Blue Deuce
- - Crazy
In the following years, the population of Blue Line offspring increased steadily and more and more breeders gained access to animals from the Super Blue category.
This resulted in greater genetic diversity and further spectacular animals from various breeders attracted attention.
The mating of Mitey Blue x Dream Baby by Rich Culvers in 2007 was just as fantastic as that of Brad Johnson in 2008.
This was the famous "GoDiva" mating of Skyy x Topaz.
As if that wasn't enough, in 2009, Christian Stewart from "The Barn" teamed up with Danny Brotto and bred the extremely fertile Blue Deuce to the female Brotto Blue.
Out of this mating came CSDB09 - Frosty, a never before seen potential blue.
Frosty was something unique. It was the speed with which his body changed color to blue.
Rico Walder also took part in the development of the Blue Line.
With the male SH05188, which genetically consisted of 50% Mr. Blue / Carolina, he founded his own Blue Line in 2011.
He mated SH05188 with a female named Bluemax / Jarvis with the identification number SH05086.
This clutch produced several Super Blue neonates and became known as one of the most spectacular Blue Line clutches.
This clutch produced males such as SH11030 which is now owned by Dave Dendlinger and the famous male SH11029 whose popular name Zeus is well known to many.
Zeus is one of the most beautiful Super Blue males ever to see the light of day.
Zeus is rightly regarded as the crowning glory in Rico Walder's Blue Line.
However, this clutch also represents a turning point in the Blue Line.
It shows that genetically diverse animals are capable of producing Super Blue specimens.
From this point on, the Blue Line has exploded in many ways.
In 2014, CG1410 Everest from Colin Guiley hatched as one of the few female Super Blue animals.
Now in 2021, we can see that the Blue Line has established itself as a stable, genetically diverse line, in which more and more outcross animals are also seeing the light of day.
The steady increase in color intensity, especially in the neonates that have recently hatched, is also astonishing.
