Anyone who deals with the biology of snakes quickly recognizes that prejudice and ignorance are the main drivers of ant sympathy.

And it was exactly these prejudices more than 10 years ago that made me interested in these creatures.

The more I learned about their way of life, the more these limbless reptiles impress me.

The green tree python (Morelia viridis) combines the mystical, wicked, and mysterious combined with fantastic colors.

It is a small tree-dwelling python that only rarely reaches more than 170 cm in total length. Not only does the terrarium have a reasonable size, but this length is also significant from a legal point of view.

Even if this nocturnal snake is not a source of constant movement and the inexperienced person signals openly yawning boredom after a short time of observing, Morelia viridis has a few characteristics that make the heart of the die-hard snake connoisseur beat faster:

- The animals, when they become active in the evening twilight, can strike extremely quickly and woe to anyone who is inattentive for a moment while handling in the terrarium; he makes acquaintance with the needle-sharp teeth

- The unbelievable variability of the color, which, through targeted crossing, constantly brings new, unpredictable color combinations of green, blue, black and yellow to light

- and not to be forgotten is the fascination of the extraordinarily exotic
