Cassiopea Color Development

On the color development of Cassiopea AmGr-021

Cassiopea hatched on December 25, 2019.

She is an offspring of Americano and Green Beauty.

Both parents have sadly passed away.

While Americano succumbed to cancer, Green Beauty was to suffer an intestinal prolapse near the end of her second pregnancy.

Only euthanasia remained.

The little Cassiopea weighed 10 g after hatching.

But she didn't cause any problems and quickly grew into a stately young animal.

At the age of about 8 months, the color change began.

The numerous black dots disappeared more and more over the years.

Today she closely resembles her father in coloring.

This Morelia viridis was initially very reserved and shy, this behavior has changed fundamentally.

She is very inquisitive and thin-skinned.

She eats extremely well, so I make sure that she is not overfed and gets fat as a result.

With around 1500 grams and a length of approx. 150 cm, the ratio between length and weight is normal.

She receives a rat weighing about 100 g every 14-21 days.

A greedy eater as I can see again and again.

In 2022 she produced her first clutch with the support of Raptor.

The clutch consisted of 13 eggs.

A total of 11 neonates emerged from this clutch, two of them are yellow.

Two neonates died shortly before hatching in the egg.

Cassiopea is currently mated with Iron Man, the last mating of Cassiopea for the time being.
