Raptor Color Development

On the color development of Raptor AmGr-020

Raptor wriggled out of his egg on December 25, 2018.

An offspring from the mating Americano x Green Beauty.

This makes him a mixture of a US designer who combines a long bloodline of the most diverse designer Chondros in his genetic makeup and a Morelia viridis that originates from the Jayapura type.

Raptor weighed 9 g at hatch and was acclimated to the unfamiliar food by the administration of a chief mouse in the weeks following the first molt.

The years that followed were unspectacular.

It is a confident male of usual length and weight. Food is repeatedly refused for weeks, which is not a cause for concern.

Rats weighing about 100 g are eaten.

In 2022, Raptor was paired for the first time.

His mate was his sister Cassiopea.

A total of 13 eggs were laid, from which 11 young hatched.

Amazingly, two yellow-colored neonates, Sunflower and Sunrise, were among the hatchlings.

Curious, because both Cassiopea and Raptor were red as neonates.

Once again it shows that with Morelia viridis nothing is what it seems.

In terms of color, the green tree python is and remains a surprise bag.
